Abstract
Purpose : In this study, we tried to investigate the usefulness of relationship between BMI and patient dose by varying exposure conditions, for the goal of X-ray dose reduction of patients.

Materials and Methods : We grouped 156 patients in the age of 20 to 70 who performed Urography CT from Jan 2015 to Dec 2015 into three groups A, B, and C to measure and analyze both DLP and BMI values. Group A consists of 52 patients who took 100kV manual exposure control method from Jan 2015 to Jun 2015, Group B consists of 52 patients who took 100kV automatic exposure control from Jun 2015 to Oct 2015, and Group C consists 52 patients who took 100kV/120kV automatic exposure control method from Oct 2015 to Dec 2015. Next, we conducted One-way ANOVA test on DLPs by phase and total DLPs of group A, B and C using SPSS and performed independent T-test on group A-B, group A-C, and group B-C respectively. Finally, we also did quantitative analysis by image assessment.

Result : One-way Anova test on total DLP values of group A, B, and C using SPSS program showed that average DLP value of group C is significant (P<0.05) in 95% confidence interval. Besides, group B in A-B, group C in A-C. and group C in B-C respectively showed their average total DLP is significant (P<0.05) in 95% confidence interval and so we confirmed dose reduction in group C.

Conclusion : For the reduction of patient dose in Urography CT, we studied the usefulness of relationship between BMI and patient dose to apply the optimal condition to clinical diagnostic.
